Logbook Recipe - Medium Roast
Years ago in a very private location, a group of scientists gathered in a dimly-lit building to discuss how to create the best cup of coffee. The three men cleaned out an abandoned office and installed state-of-the-art equipment to accurately measure the variables in the process. Every week the scientists would gather together with their home-roasted coffee beans. Together, they would carefully hand-grind the beans, measure the coffee down to the tenth of an ounce, and conscientiously pour the perfectly measured water over the perfectly roasted grinds.
With pinkies in the air, the group experimented with various origins and blends, documenting every detail along the way. Legend has it that they are still sipping pretentiously on various coffees in that dark room today. There is no way for us to know. All we are certain of is what is written in a single page torn from their logbook and what we can only assume is the closest they ever achieved to perfection. In an effort to honor the scientists, we have recreated the recipe for your enjoyment.
